UP-CIFAL leads the search for Philippine presidential candidates

The University of the Philippines-Center International de Formation des Autorites at Leaders or the International Center for Authorities and Leaders of the Philippines (UP-CIFAL Philippines), with the UP system public affairs, informs you about the “Leaders in Focus: Embedding Sustainability. “April 28, 2022 (Thursday) at 12:00 noon.

With the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, local and national governments are responsible for the context-and culture-specific integration of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into national and local policies and strategies. In addition to being an implementer of the SDGs in the country, the United Nations (UN) recognizes the national government as a catalyst for sustainable development and nation building.

As the upcoming 2022 Philippine elections approach, it is vital that the future leaders of the country be given a chance and talk about their plans and possibilities for achieving the SDGs, reaching the farthest and not leaving anyone behind.

“Leaders in Focus” brings together six presidential candidates to contribute to this goal through an insightful session. This public forum provides candidates with a platform to explain their SDG agenda and how they want to promote and achieve these goals under their leadership.
