Brief our audience about your journey as a business leader until your current position at Williams & Martial Strategy. What challenges do you have to overcome to get to where you are today?
Unfortunately, the challenges I have overcome are too much to list in a few sentences. Ever since I started WMSstrategy about eight years ago, I’ve made almost all possible mistakes – wrong pricing, bad people decisions, wrong strategies and so on. But as a result of analyzing the results and changing strategies, I have personally learned and grown a lot – both as a professional and as a leader. It has shown me that regardless of the current situation, there will always be challenges ahead (both internal and external). So, we must always be humble and look for them, analyze the situation in the right way and then take action to improve them – the sooner, the better.
Tell us more about WMSstrategy, its mission and its vision.
Williams & Marshall Strategy is a full-service market research and business consulting firm. We help our clients understand the market they are interested in, how they operate and the reasons behind that drive. We provide intelligence that enables our clients to make informed business plans and strategic decisions and thus maximize the opportunities to deal with complex challenges in a timely manner and affect their business. We provide intelligence that drives the generation, evaluation, and implementation of strong growth strategies and helps our clients stay one step ahead of the competition at all times.
Explain to us how you have impacted the consulting niche through your expertise in the market.
Our influence lies in our unique methods, processes and the thinking we apply to the collection and analysis of the data we have. Also, we are one of the very few companies that analyzes certain developing countries and certain market segments among them, some of which have not been covered by any company before. We’re also working on some fancy projects that we haven’t seen anywhere else and you’ll be even happier when they’re launched.
Undoubtedly, technology is playing a significant role in almost every sector. How are you using technological advances to enrich your solutions?
Technology is an ever-evolving field, and the pace at which it grows and innovates is simply fascinating and cannot be compared to anything else. So, we are always interested in new technologies that can help us improve our skills and provide better services to our clients. A recent example is a script that we have built internally, which is used automatically to calculate the raw data of thousands of different points, to write hundreds of pages of text as well as to place accurate tables and graphs. We have implemented various technological advances in the process of hiring market experts and analyzing market expert insights, creating and presenting our reports, and much more. This allows us to spend less time on things that are not needed first and gives our clients more value where we can do the best we can.
If given a chance, would you like to make a difference in the business consulting industry?
I think we all have the opportunity to change every day both our art and our personal universe. For the consulting industry – I believe it has been misunderstood by many (especially those who have never crossed paths with it), and many people have very misconceptions about it. The business consulting industry is here to create value and help clients better understand the world so that they can make better decisions, improve their business activities and thus better serve their clients. That’s what we’re doing every day, and I’m glad to say that we’re changing it as we talk – one person and one company at a time.
What, in your opinion, could be the next big change in market research? How is WMSstrategy preparing to be a part of that change?
Over the past few years, many service-related industry changes have largely come from technology. Developing new technologies have allowed the entire industry to streamline multiple processes and reduce costs and time while increasing efficiency and efficiency. However, in that long technical marathon, we sometimes put people in second place, and I believe this will be one of the biggest changes for the short to medium term. Everyone should understand that people always come first and those who can attract and retain the best talent can get a significant competitive edge. For the next big change, I personally believe that there will be a lot of new developments in the market research industry, which is connected to the various Metaverse platforms that are currently being created and the amount of attention and users they are going to receive.
Where do you imagine yourself to be in the long run and what are your future goals for WMSstrategy?
Long times can be far away, so I personally always keep a vision for the next 5-10 years, but try to focus on the next 1-3 and what we do with them helps us grow further. Immediate plans for the short term include expanding our business by attracting new talent to the team and expanding our existing portfolio. We’re already covering several thousand markets in more than 150 countries worldwide, but we’re soon adding some new art verticals and titles that none of our competitors currently offer. We’re also working with our in-house software, streamlining some of our work processes, and providing completely new ways to analyze and present informative insights.
What would be your advice for emerging entrepreneurs who want to be entrepreneurs in the business sector?
I know it may sound clich, but believing in themselves and their dreams will never go away. And I can say that as a person who has seen work in real life – sometimes, I feel very successful but not once have I been very close to the other end of the spectrum. Talent is great, but nothing can lose hard work and an open mind. So, if they are willing to work and are attentive and analytical to the results – then anything is possible. Another important piece of advice I can give – be consistent and patient – success does not exist overnight and usually takes many years to build behind the scenes. Last but not least – it’s always about people. So, regardless of the business aspect you choose – make sure you learn how to attract the best talents and keep them always motivated. Only then can you strive for true success!
