Putting public service at the core of his work, Chrissy Coon Leaving law enforcement to join has made a difficult decision MutualLink Inc.. As Chief Buyer Experience Officer. Her passion is to solve problems with the community and to build and strengthen relationships through trust and transparency and to advance technology that enhances public safety capabilities in a meaningful way for each community. With Mutualink, Christie’s communities and public safety agencies can lead significant changes in how they protect and serve citizens.
Chrissy noted that helping agencies change how they operate and adapt to cutting-edge technology to support their mission is a challenging but rewarding task. He shares, “Over the years, I have learned how to work, to partner and to align with every level of industry, academia and government. Working with such incredible individuals and partners has taught me a lot about what it takes to lead in an environment of truly strong leaders, as well as continue to manage and learn rapidly changing technologies in a public safety environment. “
Chrissy spent 15 years as a police officer with the North Las Vegas Police Department before being transformed into a federal government. He has spent five years with the FirstNet authority in the Commerce Department, supporting the first reactionary and public safety agency in the country.
Chrissy had the unique opportunity to experience the public safety, technology and public safety technology industry from multiple perspectives. First as a police officer, then as a senior government leader and now as an executive in the private sector serving government customers. This helped him to see and understand the challenges in each area while finding the right solution. It also showed Chrissy how important it is for them to work together.
“I am delighted to be able to bridge the gap between state and local public safety, industry and the federal government, and to help bring together leaders from all areas, including academia, to make the right connection.” Come up with the right solution. Being able to act as a translator in each of these areas has helped the industry better understand the needs of public safety and how their technology will be used and provided a voice for public safety in the industry. It allows me to bring to light solutions or challenges that would otherwise be overlooked and to create partnerships that would not otherwise have existed. “ Chrissy explains.
These efforts have made a tremendous impact across all sectors and have been invaluable to everyone involved. Chrissy is proud of the profound impact of her work in the areas of public safety, technology and government technology.
Building safe, smart community
Mutualink supports the mission of First Response and Public Safety organizations by bringing advanced communication technology to their community and those organizations and communities around them that improve and integrate responses in complex events and emergencies. It helps them save seconds so they can save lives.
Chrissy revealed that Mutualink works across state, local and federal governments, integrating new leading technology initiatives, including 5G, smart cities and IoT, the foundations that provide the foundation for seamless data exchange and data interoperability. Mutualink’s vision is to create an environment where public safety and community services can coordinate across local, county or state borders to provide a community with the resources it needs to provide the best possible response in each situation.
Chrissy is incredibly proud of Mutualink’s team and its work. With their combined experience which is second-to-none, they understand the first-respondent community because most people come directly from there. “This is an important element of our success and our commitment to our clients and our commitment to the communities they serve is key to ensuring that we are first and foremost in everything we do.” Chrissy notes.

Connecting with technology
Chrissy constantly watched the evolution of technology. Every day new technologies are being created and adopted. Mututalink is always looking for new technologies and understands how they can be used to provide better capabilities or experiences to their customers. Beyond that, we invest heavily in technology innovation and development to support the next wave of advances for things like 5G, smart cities, artificial intelligence and smart automation using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. It not only gives us insights into how these technologies can best be integrated with our existing capabilities, but also how we can look forward and influence technology trends that benefit everyone – not just public safety.
Chrissy says the most important challenges to public safety are the sheer number of entities, organizations and communities using different technology systems, including legacy communication and the use of data technology. This poses a significant challenge in integrating communication and data interoperability across agencies and communities.
“I believe that by creating that fabric of interoperability, we can start bringing agencies and communities together, creating communication and data sharing frameworks that can be used to fill technology gaps and pave the way for modernization.” Not just the modernization of technology, but the modernization of how agencies and communities are serving their citizens, as well as the skills that communities and citizens will acquire while engaging with modern technology, serving the wider community as a whole. Chrissy explains.
Chrissy noted that looking at the horizons of public safety technology, 5G and smart city technologies that use intelligent sensors and IoT technology are ready to bring about a paradigm shift to bring better awareness of the situation. And how public safety and communities communicate and how organizations and communities are informed, responding, and responding to critical events.
Mutualink, Inc. Ready to meet the demands of this evolving technology. Communication interoperability and data sharing are at the core of what it does. So as communities, cities and even citizens begin to embrace these new technologies, Mutualink, Inc. Chrissy told aspiring entrepreneurs that having a good idea is not enough. It’s a good start. He says “If you believe in your idea, be prepared to do it to keep it alive. Learn as much as you can about every aspect of your business, your customers, your end-users, and your partners. Build a culture as you build your business. They care about your people. They will be your greatest asset and their greatest champion. “
“Along the way, look to learn from the people around you and to give advice. The time that people share with you is the most precious gift that will be given to you and do not be afraid to give time to others. After all, don’t stop learning. “ Chrissy finishes.
